The search for some the best buka puasa fare for Ramadan 2016 among the major hotels in Kuala Lumpur brought us to the 5 Star Seri Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur Buka Puasa Buffet themed "Sajian Nostalgia".
The Seri Pacific Kuala Lumpur has been among our top 3 spots for buka puasa over the the last few years. They are famous for whipping up some awesome tasting traditional Malay cuisine taking diners back to their younger days in the kampung, thus the theme "Sajian Nostalgia". They have always priced their buffet at an affordable price so that many can enjoy the feast that they have prepared.
We headed for the main station of all buka puasa buffets - The Roast Lamb. The Seri Pacific Roast Lamb was done to perfection. It was tender and succulent with a perfect crisp on the top. The Roast Beef was delicious too. The combination allowed us to have a great start to our buka puasa.
The Appetisers counter was not extensive but you will find some tasty traditional appetisers here. With traditional ulam ulaman like Kacang Botol, Pegaga and Ulam Raja.
The Nasi Briyani station is always a crowd favourite. Pair the nasi briyani with the awesome tasting dishes at the Nasi Kandar corner and you will be taken back to your nostalgic kampung days when it was all about great tasting food.
The curries at the Nasi Kandar corner and Masakan Kampung Station were so delicious. The Kari Kepala Ikan and daging kicap is a must try!
Other tasty dishes included Siput Buloh Masak Lemak and mixed vegetable squid dish.
The Other must visit stations in the buffet, include the live cooking stations. The Soup Gear Box Station is a major crowd favourite. The Soup Ayam was very good too.
Other stations include the Burger, Pasta , Bakar Bakar, Murtabak. Chinese, Japanese, Nasi Ayam, Lok Lok and Pizza Stations.
Hot and Cold Drinks were available as part of the buffet and the sirap selasih was really good. The drink are really well prepared and it is unlikely you will be disappointed. No watered down stuff here.
No kampung fare is complete without Ice Kacang or ABC
For Dessert they had lots of traditional pastries, cakes and fruits. There were also western cakes and jelly's. The Red Velvet cake and traditional pastries is a must try. Seasonal Fruits such as Nangka, Jambu, Water Melons and Papaya are also available.
For those who love their bubur, you can be assured of some good tasting bubur here. Some of the bubur here includes Bubur Kacang Hijau bersama Durian, Pulut Hitam, Pengat Pisang, Bubur Kacang Merah dan Bubur Jagung
The Verdict: If you like to keep it simple and have good tasting food this is the place to be. Service is fairly good, the food fresh and tasty as they have quite a number of live cooking stations. The Sajian Nostalgia Buffet is highly recommended.
The Seri Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur Sajian Nostalgia Buka Puasa Buffet is priced at RM98.00 nett for the fare at the Pacific Ballroom area and RM128.00 Nett for the fare at the Zende Restaurant. It's advisable to make reservations in advance as this hotel is a very popular spot for buka puasa.

This year the Seri Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur brought in a Durian vendor to set up stall next to their buffet. Guest can purchase the durian and consume there or do a take away. Musang King durians were going for RM35.00 per pack. It was no surprise that this stall was doing brisk business. Please note that this is not part of the buffet price.
