Ramadhan Buka Puasa 2016 - Authentic Local Buka Puasa Delights at Diamond Ballroom, Mandarin Oriental Hotel KL at RM158 Nett

With our selection of the Best of the Best Ramadhan Buka Puasa Buffet 2016 in Kuala Lumpur now over, most our followers are feasting on the video and pictures to select where they want to buka puasa during the last week of Ramadhan. As such decided to review some of the buffets we could not review before because of time constraints.

We went to review the second  Ramadhan Buka Buffet at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Kuala Lumpur held at the Diamond Ballroom. Their main Ramadhan Buffet spread is at the Mosaic Restaurant. The price at the Mosaic is RM188.00 but on July 5 and 6 it will be at RM138.00

The price at the Diamond Ballroom is at RM158 and the spread here is mostly Asian and Malay Cuisine. The Ramadhan Buka Puasa fare at the Diamond Ballroom will be until July 3, 2016. You wont find the Western Grill and Japanese sections here as they are only available at the Mosaic. They have mostly some good tasting Malay dishes.

There is a real festive feel to the Ramadhan Buka Puasa Buffet at the Diamond Ballroom with Ramadhan and Hari Raya songs played throughout the night. At the Diamond Ballroom it is all about QUALITY & not about quantity. It is about breaking your fast with authentic malay dishes in a festive five star ambiance. 

  

The setting is spacious and dining in the Diamond Ballroom gives you a kampung feel in a five star setting.

We headed to check out the  Roast Lamb first as we always do. We were pleasantly shocked to note how tender the lamb was and how it melted in our mouths. Certainly one of the top 3 lambs we have tasted at the Buka Puasa Buffet's

The Satay was up to our expectation, the beef and chicken is one of the best in town with right marination.

To do our selection of the best, this year we shortlisted and visited 10 Major 5 Star Hotels  in Kuala Lumpur to sample their Buka Puasa buffet offering during the month of Ramadhan. The selection was limited to Five Star Hotels in Kuala Lumpur only

We hope that in coming out with this selection, you can see what you might like and visit the hotels that stand out during the last week of Ramadan with your family, friends or even clients.

Our selection was based on the following criteria:
-Variety, Taste and Quality of Food & Beverage provided as part of the buffet.
- Ambiance of the venue.

- Number of Live Cooking Stations
- Service provided by Chefs
- Service & Attentiveness of Staff.
- Comfort of Diners.
- Entertainment provided during the buka puasa buffet.

- Overall Value for the Price Paid.

Since most of the buffets are made up of different cuisines, like in the previous year we have chosen the best of each cuisine and live cooking stations, eventually leading up to the best overall Ramadhan Buffet.

There is no major prizes for the hotels, but simply boasting rights!!!

BEST FB KL's choice for the Best Ramadhan Buka Puasa Buffet is Royale Chulan Hotel Kuala Lumpur's "Royale Buffet". This is the the third year in a row, that they have come out top's in our review!!!

The exquisite ambiance of the huge Taman Mahsuri courtyard gives the The Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur  a sort of unfair advantage over other hotels, but as mentioned above, we consider many other things when selecting the best Ramadhan Buka Puasa Offering among the 5 Star Hotels in Kuala Lumpur.

The Royale Chulan continues to surprise us every year, just when we thought they can't do any better!  They get top marks for having the most variety of food and providing an overall tasty fare. 

They price their buffet  at RM138.00, For Senior Citizens its at RM98.00.  

The Hotel Istana's fare was very good too, however the Royale Chulan Hotel held a very slight edge over it.

When you have a buffet with an Ice Kacang or ABC stall with over 200 condiments, with more than 1000 different dishes and over 30 live cooking station and sections, it's not a surprise to see why they are being selected again this year. 

It was here that we had the best ever Bubur Pulut Hitam here. It was so good I wanted to ask the Chef to do a take away!

The combination of the awesome Buffet Spread , the presence of a very good ghazal band , the waterfall, the greenery surrounding the Taman Mahsuri Courtyard, the colourful decorations & lights make the Royale Chulan Hotel Kuala Lumpur Ramadan Buka Puasa "Royale Buffet",  the Buffet of all Buffets in 2016.
