Ex-serviceman found hanging at Kota Darul Ehsan arch

Asok Kumar Koyamboo, 53, was found hanging from a height of 30 metres at the arch in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

KUALA LUMPUR: The body of a 53-year old former Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) serviceman was found hanging from the Kota Darul Ehsan arch early Sunday.
Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Sharul Othman Mansor said a passer-by contacted the police at about 4.30am after seeing the body, which was hanging from a height of 30 metres.
“Forensics (department) confirms there was no evidence of foul play after initial investigations.
“Firemen and police personnel arrived at the scene and lowered the body from the height of 30 metres,” he said in a statement today.
The body was later sent to University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) for a post-mortem.
The man was identified as Asok Kumar Koyamboo, who was said to have owned a pub in nearby Jalan Klang Lama. He resided in Petaling Jaya.

Police do not suspect any foul play was involved. News of his death went viral on whats app .



A wake is being held today at his house in Meadow Park, off Jalan Klang Lama, Kuala Lumpur. The funeral will be held tomorrow at the same location, with the cortege heading to Sentul Crematorium. Asok leaves a wife and three children.
