TheMalaysia has definitely not disappeared despite the superstar exiting Malaysia for Thailand to continue the shooting of his upcoming film, Kabali.
According to Star Online, Rajinikanth, who has a cult-like following in Malaysia, became a point of discussion in Malaysia’s Parliament on Wednesday, 25 November 2015.
Baling MP, Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim explained the plot of Rajinikanth’s superhit film, Baashha and also re-enacted several famous dialogue from the superstar; ‘’ Yen Vali Thani Vaali…Naan Oru Thadavai Soona Nooru Thadavai Soona Mathiri’’.
The MP also obtained a permission to explain a scene a Tamil. This created some laughter and excitement among the Parliamentary representative. He then ended his speech by stating ‘’Despite it all, the message of the film is important….Malaysian youths will see this actor as an idol’’.
This comes to show that Indian cinema has managed to capture the hearts of Malaysians from all walks of life regardless of race and religion. Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Kabali is slated to be released in 2016. The film is reportedly a real life story of a Chennai based gangster.
