Man stabbed following argument over dog

KUALA LUMPUR: A pet dog was said to be the root cause of an argument which led to a fight where a man was stabbed, leaving the victim in critical condition.
City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad said initial investigations revealed that the argument was sparked by the presence of a dog in the house where the victim was staying.
It is learnt that a fellow female tenant had brought the dog into the house, angering the victim.
A quarrel ensued before a group of men, said to be friends of the woman, started attacking the victim.
"We are on the lookout for the armed assailant who attacked the victim with several of his friends," SAC Zainuddin said when contacted on Saturday.
He also said police had arrested two jobless men, in their 20s, at an apartment block near Jalan Usahawan, Setapak to assist investigations into the incident.
Meanwhile, Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt Mohd Roy Suhaimi Sarif said the incident occurred at about 11.30pm on Friday.
He said security guards alerted police of a fight on the 22th floor of the apartment block.
"They tried to stop the fight but the victim was stabbed by one of the assailants," he said.
The victim is now in critical condition with stab wounds on his chest and back.
He is being warded at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
