PETALING JAYA: Veteran producer, director and actress Julie Dahlan (pic) passed away at around 8pm on Thursday from complications due to kidney disease, diabetes and high blood pressure at Hospital Ampang.
According to Julie's daughter Hani Nur Zara, her mother died upon reaching the hospital.
“When the ambulance was on its way to the hospital, my mother was struggling to breathe. The moment we arrived at the hospital, the doctor confirmed that she had passed away.
“Actually, my late mother was just discharged on Wednesday after three days in the hospital. This afternoon, however, she kept on vomiting blood.
“I did not expect her to go so soon. I am sad that my mother is not able to see my child, who will be born this October,” she told to mStar.
Julie, or her real name Junaidah Dahlan, was known for having produced popular films like Wira Angkasa (1987), Harry Boy (1991), Driving School (1990) and Terakhir Cinta Metropolitan (1996).
She was also known for roles in films like Si Badol (1979), Idola (2002) and Cicakman 2: Planet Hitam (2008).
