Mother forgives woman who killed her son in accident

KUALA LUMPUR: Coming face-to-face with the driver of the vehicle that allegedly rammed and killed her son put a grieving mother’s faith to test.
It is learnt that student Nazirul Amin Nazri, 16, was instantly killed after the motorcycle that he was travelling on collided with a car near the traffic light junction along Jalan 34/26, Taman Sri Rampai, Setapak, here at about 7.30pm Friday.
Nazirul’s pillion rider, who was also 16, survived the accident although he suffered grievous injuries.
Both boys were rushed to Hospital Kuala Lumpur following the collision.
When met at the mortuary, bereaved mother Nik Rahimah Nik Hussin, 39, said Nazirul was already lifeless by the time the family arrived at the scene.
“The driver of the Saga asked me if it was my son who had died. When I answered ‘yes’, she profusely apologised to me.
“There was nothing left to be said or done, Nazirul is already dead.
“I do not want to be angry and I am not the type to hold grudges. I leave everything to God,” said the housewife with tears streaming from her face.
According to Nik Rahimah, Nazirul was the second child among five siblings and had always been a good boy.
Her husband, Nazri Haji Zakaria, was also distraught by the untimely death of his son.
Auxiliary policeman Nazri, 44, said Nazirul could have been heading home after a game of sepak takraw with his friends.
“We are not certain where Nazirul was heading from but he usually plays sepak takraw in the evening.
