PETALING JAYA: A witness has given the police an 11-second-long phone video recording said to show the circumstances leading up to the death of Alleycats manager Stephen Joseph (pic).
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Azmi Abu Kassim said the recording purportedly showed the incident where Joseph was allegedly punched by a man at a parking space near a food court in Jalan SS2/63 on Jan 5.
However, he said police still could not verify the authenticity of the video, adding that police had recorded six new statements from individuals near the scene at the time of the fight.
Joseph, 54, died on Jan 6 after being involved in a fight with an assailant who allegedly punched him in the chest. It was said the two had had an argument over a parking space.
The man is described as “big and wearing a T-shirt” at the time of the incident – around 7.30pm – at a parking lot in front of a food court in Jalan SS2/63.
Those who witnessed the incident at the car park can contact the Petaling Jaya police at 03-7966 2222.
