Student who joined BAC to do her A-Levels Is Stunned When She is told she won A Lotus Elise Car

KUALA LUMPUR: Her decision to further her studies at Brickfields Asia College (BAC) saw Shirly Vun Siew Fui, an A-levels student, winning the grand prize of a Lotus Elise car in the BAC Gives Back Lotus Draw.
Vun, who was stunned when she received a phone call telling her the good news, said she had not decided if she was going to keep the car or give it to her parents.
“I received the call 12pm sharp on Friday and I was so excited as I did not expect to win the lucky draw.
The Lotus Draw was part of the “BAC Gives Back Millions” campaign organised by the college for friends and extended family of BAC.
The campaign, which commenced in 2014, aimed at inspiring people to make a difference in their lives and of others, through several activities and volunteering programmes organised for people of all ages.
Two students won a round trip to watch the FA Cup 2013 finals live in London, a Mini One car and other goodies including free Microsoft Surface RT tablets.
BAC managing director Raja Singham said as part of their corporate social responsibility, the college had also donated RM2 million to EduNation, Malaysia's first social platform for education which provides free tuition to Malaysian schoolchildren.
In trying something new, Singham said they had on Aug last year launched their first BAC Gives Back Concept Store to work as a medium for the college to repay the society.
The stores, he said, are located in its Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur campuses.
“The stores sell everything from books to stationery to hip clothing, musical instruments, sports equipment and apparel to dietary supplements.
“Ten per cent of the sales will be channeled to charity,” he said adding that every profitable entity should have a social and moral duty to return some of the hard-earned profit back to the community.
BAC had always been mindful of its obligation to the society by using its growth to generate more projects for the benefit of the community.
As a recognition for their outstanding corporate social responsibility practices, last year, BAC has been awarded with the SME Recognition Award for Social Responsibility Excellence by the SMI Association of Malaysia.
