A city traffic police spokesman said the flash flood started when the heavy rains started earlier this evening.
“We had to close a few roads due to the high water level to avoid any mishap,” he said.
He said as of 4.30pm, only Jalan Chan Sow Lin heading to Seremban were still closed while waiting for the water to subside.
He told the New Straits Times that they had received a report of two cars that were stuck at Jalan Duta heading to Damansara which causes the traffic to be slow moving.
“The fire and rescue team and Civil Defence department were already on their way,” he said.
He added other roads including the Jalan Sultan Ismail heading towards Bukit Bintang, Bulatan Belia and Bulatan Tun Razak were also temporarily closed due to the high water level.
He said at occurrences like this, the water level will usually subside between two and three hours if there were no continuous rains.
“Motorists are advised to be extra cautious when they are on the road,” he said.
