MRT Corp reopens turn to Jalan Imbi from Jalan Raja Chulan

MRT Corp has reopened the right turn from Jalan Raja Chulan into Jalan Imbi since this morning, the company announced in a statement released today.
One lane for this turning was reopened to traffic at 11.30am.
The turning had been closed since May 7,  2014 as part of the closure of Jalan Raja Chulan, between Jalan Conlay and Jalan Imbi, when a depression was detected in front of the Audi Showroom and Chulan Square.
On Tuesday, Jalan Raja Chulan was reopened to traffic headed to Jalan Tun Razak, however the right turn into Jalan Imbi had remained closed.
In view of the latest opening, the following closures in the area remain:
i) Jalan Bukit Bintang (Pavilion-bound) in front of the Audi Showroom, which began on May 6, 2014.
ii) Jalan Bukit Bintang (Jalan Tun Razak-bound) in front of Bangunan LTAT and Menara Worldwide (Tun Razak bound) which began on April 23, 2014. Road users heading to Jalan Tun Razak from Jalan Raja Chulan will be diverted onto the opposite side of Jalan Bukit Bintang under a contraflow system at this stretch of road.

Road diversions
MRT Corp would like to advise road users of the following diversions as a result of road closures in the area:

ii) Jalan Bukit Bintang (Jalan Tun Razak-bound).

Pedestrian safety
As the closures also affects several pedestrian walkways and crossings in the area, MRT Project Underground work contractor MMC Gamuda KVMRT (T) has identified several safe walkways and crossings for pedestrians along the roads. Pedestrians are urged to follow directional signs along the roads.
Traffic police and the MRT Project Emergency Response Team have been deployed to help direct traffic.
MRT Corp apologises for the inconvenience caused and will provide further updates on the situation and when the road will be reopened.
