Tonnes of mangosteens and lithium batteries in cargo

KUALA LUMPUR: The missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 was carrying 4.566 tonnes of mangosteens besides 200 pieces of lithium ion batteries weighing about 2.453 tonnes.
The plane’s full cargo manifest was released by the authorities yesterday as part of the preliminary report on the jetliner that went missing on its flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing in the early hours of March 8.
The air waybill for the mangosteens, which was being sent by Poh Seng Kian, whose address was 79 Batu 6¼ Kesang, 84000 Muar, Johor, was RM51,367.50.
The cargo was being sent to Beijing Guangchangming Trading Co Ltd, whose address is 18 Houanding Duan, Qing Lilu, Houndingcun, Anding Zhen, Daxingqu, Beijing, China.
The air waybill for the lithium ion batteries meanwhile was RM32,082.48.
For the batteries, the manifest came with an instruction that it should be handled with care and that flammability hazards exist.
The manifest revealed that the batteries were from NNR Global Logistics (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Penang.
“The package was meant for NNR Global Logistics (Beijing) Co Ltd but a company named JHJ International Transportation Co Ltd, Beijing Branch, was to collect the cargo on its behalf.”

On the seating plan, the authorities revealed that 10 people were seated in the Business Class section of the flight.
The 10 were three Chinese nationals, three Malaysians, two Canadians, a New Zealander and a Russian.
The rest of the 217 passengers were seated in Economy Class.
