Chinese Fish Farm Manager Kidnapped By Armed Gunmen in Sabah

Chinese national abducted by armed gunmen in Sabah

A company manager was abducted early this morning by armed gunmen from a fishery farm near Pulau Babi, Lahad Datu in Sabah, just a day after pirates robbed three fishermen off the waters of Tanjung Labian.
Initial investigations revealed that the victim has been identified as Yang Zailin, a Chinese national. The victim was apparently a manager of Wonderful Terrace Sdn Bhd, the company that runs the fish farm.
The incident reportedly occurred between 2.45am and 2.55am this morning.

Eastern Sabah Security Command director-general Datuk Muhammad Mentek was not available for comment as he is abroad.
Sabah police chief Datuk Hamza Taib will be giving a press conference at 1pm today to elaborate on the case.
This is the second abduction to be reported this year following an incident reported in early March.
The incident saw 29-year-old Gao Hua Yun from Shanghai and 40-year-old Marcy Dayawan @ Mimi from the Phillipines being abducted from the Singamata Reef Resort in Semporna.
It occurred several months after a Taiwanese national, Chang An Wei, 57, was abducted by armed men from Pom Pom island in November last year.
Chang was freed a month later in December after a sizable ransom was reportedly paid for her release.
The fate of Gao and Marcy, however, is still not known although it is learned that the kidnappers have already demanded for a ransom. – May 6, 2014.
