PETALING JAYA: The new Peugeot 308 has been crowned the “European Car of the Year 2014” at the 84th Geneva Motor Show, a title awarded by a jury of journalists representing 22 European countries.
Naza group of companies joint group executive chairman SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin said: “By beating out stiff competition from 30 other new models from the United States, South Korea, Europe and Japan, Peugeot has again solidified its reputation as a superior European brand.”
Naza Group’s unit, Nasim Sdn Bhd, is expected to release the new 308 locally in the first half of 2015.
The model was launched in Europe during the last four months of 2013.
The marque has received more than 55,000 orders since the launch in Europe.
