KAJANG: Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has brushed off bomoh Ibrahim Mat Zin’s “slap threat”.
“He may want to slap me but I think all of Malaysia wants to slap him for embarrassing the country.
“What he is practising is not in accordance with the religion. I am not going to entertain (his threats),” Khairy said when met after a breakfast event with Kajang folk and Barisan Nasional candidate for Kajang Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun, Saturday.
Ibrahim, who calls himself Raja Bomoh Sedunia Nujum VIP, had conducted rituals to locate the missing MAS flight MH370 at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
His rituals, which included using zam zam water, coconuts, a “magical” walking stick and a “flying carpet”, were recorded and have gone viral.
Khairy had tweeted on Wednesday: “Somebody should arrest those magic carpet bomohs. Embarassing.”
The remark had irked Ibrahim who said, “Let me do my work. Don’t classify what I do as haram. Meet me before delivering a judgement.
“Resign (as minister) and I will resign as mahaguru. We will fight. I will slap him like a crocodile, then he’ll know.”
