KUALA LUMPUR: BlackBerry, Canada's leading company that offers software and cyber security solution services, expressed its desire to support the country's economic growth through collaboration with Malaysia.

The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, said the matter was brought to his notice when he received the courtesy visit of Canada's High Commissioner to Malaysia, Wayne Robson, together with the President and CEO of BlackBerry Cybersecurity, John Gianmatteo, on Monday evening.

Also present were the Chairman of the Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), Tan Sri Mohamad Salim Fateh Din and the Chief Executive of the National Cyber ​​Security Agency (NACSA), Dr Megat Zuhairy Megat Tajuddin.







Anwar who is also the Minister of Finance said in a post on Facebook that Gianmatteo also informed that the company plans to open the first BlackBerry Cyber ​​Security Center of Excellence in the Asia Pacific region.

"I stated Malaysia's stance to continue to open up opportunities and facilitate quality investment that outside parties want to bring.

"May the commitment and integrated efforts being implemented by the Unity Government in structuring the economy attract the interest of more foreign investors," he said. - BERNAMA
