GEORGE TOWN: Voting resumed at SK Seri Relau polling centre in Paya Terubong, after a voting stream was suspended following the discovery of an unsealed ballot box.
Pakatan Harapan's Paya Terubong candidate Wong Hon Wai said that the voting resumed at 1.26pm.

Sin Chew Daily reported that Ooi declared he would not recognise any of the ballots in that box as valid votes and asked for Election Commission to suspend voting for that stream, which was to have 719 voters.
It is understood that the seal was left on the table next to the ballot box.
Election Commission officials are investigating and it is not yet known if the 177 ballot papers would be invalidated.

Prior to the discovery of the unsealed ballot box, 177 ballot papers had already been cast into the box, with the Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Ooi Ghee Oon making the find at SK Seri Relau.
Ooi stated his refusal to acknowledge any of the ballots within that box as legitimate votes.
He called on the Election Commission (EC) to halt the voting process for that particular stream, which was originally intended for 719 voters, according to a report by Sin Chew Daily.

EC officials are investigating the matter
The seal was believed to have been found beside the ballot box and the matter is currently under investigation by EC authorities. It is not yet known if the 177 ballot papers would be invalidated.
