FACTBOX - Key winners of the 2022 Golden Globe awards
Despite a scandal regarding its lack of diversity, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association went forth with announcing winners for the best in TV and film on Sunday. - REUTERS
The annual Golden Globe awards for film and television were announced on Sunday at a private ceremony in Beverly Hills.
Longtime broadcaster NBC opted not to televise this year's show after complaints about a lack of diversity and questionable ethics policies by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), the group that chooses the winners. The HFPA said it has taken steps to address concerns.
Following is a list of winners in key categories:

“Things may look a little different this year,” read a very understated tweet from the official Golden Globes account as the “private” affair at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif. began.
In film, “The Power of the Dog” and “West Side Story” scored top honors for the night, winning Best Motion Picture in Drama and Musical or Comedy, respectively. Nicole Kidman (“Being the Ricardos”) and Will Smith (“King Richard”) won Best Actress and Actor — Smith’s first-ever Globes win despite being nominated six times — in the Drama category while Rachel Zegler (“West Side Story”) and Andrew Garfield (“Tick, Tick… BOOM!”) earned wins in the Musical or Comedy categories.
As for television, “Hacks” and its star Jean Smart were victorious with Best Television Series, Musical or Comedy and Best Actress, which marks her first Globe triumph, while Jason Sudeikis logged a win for “Ted Lasso” for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy Series. In the drama category, “Succession” won Best Television Series its star Jeremy Strong scored the win for acting. “Pose” phenom Michaela JaĆ© (Mj) Rodriguez made history as the first trans actress ever to win a Golden Globe, which also marked her first win.
