Karaoke Outlet Offering South Korean GRO services raided by Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia WP KL

In a raid on a karaoke outlet in Solaris Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur on Friday six woman believed to be South Korean nationals was arrested 

The Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) detained six women 

Kuala Lumpur Immigration Director Syamsul Badrin Mohshin said in a statement on Saturday that they also detained two South Korean men and a Pakistani man suspected of being employees at the premises.

According to him, the karaoke centre offers GRO aged between 24 to 46 years old as a special room-to-room waitress at a lucrative fee of RM500 depending on the services offered as well as tips from customers. "The price of a room is up to 2,000 ringgit," he said.

During the raid no one was able to escape because the premises were completely surrounded.

All suspects are detained for the offence of Article 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963 for abusing expatriate passes," he said.

Syamsul Badrin said that in the same operation, Kuala Lumpur Immigration detained six Thai women and one from Vietnam in a raid involving three massage and reflexology centres around Pandan Indah.

"In order to get the services offered, customers have to pay RM200 per hour," he said.

According to Syamsul Badrin, all of them were detained for the offence of misusing passes or permits, overtime stay and others in violation of the Immigration Act 1959/63 and Immigration Regulations 1963.

He said Immigration took public complaints seriously and would not compromise on the matter.
