JOHOR BAHRU: A woman has lodged a police report against a state assemblyman in Johor for alleged sexual harassment.
Kota Tinggi district police chief Supt Hussin Zamora said the 26-year-old woman lodged the report at the Kota Tinggi police station at about 11.30 am today.
"Yes, we have received (a report). The case is being investigated," he said when contacted by Bernama here today.
A police report on the alleged sexual harassment case has gone viral on social media.
The woman, believed to be a member of a political party, claimed that she had been sexually harassed several times by the state assemblyman.

Sedili assemblyman denies sexual harassment
JOHOR BAHRU: Sedili State Assemblyman (ADUN), Rasman Ithnain strongly denied the allegation of a woman who lodged a police report claiming to have been sexually harassed, yesterday.
Rasman said the accusation was not only a political conspiracy but also slander as well as an attempt to tarnish his dignity and tarnish his reputation as an elected representative.
“At 2pm yesterday (January 17), I was informed that there was a police report lodged against me by an individual who is also a Member of the Srikandi Committee of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (BERSATU) Kota Tinggi Division.
"I hereby vehemently deny the allegations in the report. This is a political conspiracy, slander and an attempt to tarnish my dignity as well as tarnish my reputation as an elected representative.
"I am also ready to give my full cooperation throughout the investigation process to ensure that justice is done.
"I am also in discussions with my lawyer to take appropriate legal action against any individual who tries to tarnish my name and image like this," he said in a statement, last night.
Media previously reported that the police received a report from a woman who claimed to have been sexually harassed by an assemblyman in Johor.
Kota Tinggi District Police Chief, Superintendent Hussin Zamora, was reported to have said that they received a report of alleged misconduct by the assemblyman, against the 26-year-old woman at the Kota Tinggi Police Station at about 11.30am.
Rasman also stressed that such a political conspiracy would never weaken his spirit to continue to fight and carry out the responsibilities entrusted to him through the people's mandate.
"Hopefully, the truth will be unraveled eventually and my struggle will be facilitated and satisfied by Allah SWT," he said.
