PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has thanked all parties who affirmed their support for him to succeed Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as the next prime minister.“Thank you, thank you. Thank you to the people, Pakatan Harapan and Tun M, ” Anwar told reporters at the Parliament lobby.


He said the matter had been decided before the 14th General Election.

Pressed to comment on attempts to stop him from becoming the next prime minister, Anwar said: “We cannot prevent this.”


However, he maintained that he was unperturbed by such attempts.

“I have no problem. We just focus on work, ” he said.

He pointed out that other Pakatan leaders or parties had not nominated other candidates for the post.

In an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald published on Monday, Dr Mahathir stressed that he would make way for Anwar as agreed.
