IPOH: Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu says Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia's (Bersatu) supreme council will discuss the allegation by Barisan Nasional supporters in a video clip that he told them the party may leave the Pakatan Harapan coalition.
Ahmad, who is the Perak Pakatan Harapan chairman, said the matter would be brought up with the Pakatan council as well.
“Let the supreme council decide. I leave it to them, ” he told reporters at the Iskandar Polo Club here Wednesday (Nov 13).
On Nov 9, a video of a man wearing a Barisan T-shirt and cap claimed that Ahmad had discussed the idea of taking Bersatu out of the coalition.
In the 1-min-9-sec video posted by a Facebook user under the name of Ddiy Putra, the unnamed man says Ahmad told them that the matter had been discussed in Parliament.
Two more men then appear in the video claiming to have heard the same thing.
The men then ask Ahmad to come and see them if he thinks that the video is being edited to convey untruths.
“Berani kerana benar, ” says one of the men in the video.
Previously, on Nov 8, it was reported that a video clip had surfaced of Ahmad lamenting that he was fighting a “lone battle” against the DAP.
Following this on Monday (Nov 11), the chairman of Bersatu and Pakatan, Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, responded by saying that Ahmad would not face any action from the party over his remark.
In a separate matter, Ahmad, who is the Chenderiang MP, said he would be receiving a full report on the chikungunya case reported in his constituency during the state meeting on Wednesday (Nov 13).
“As soon as we receive the full report by the state health committee chairman and related agencies, immediate action will be taken. Our priority is the safety and health of the public, ” he said.
