Singaporeans on social media have exposed the activities of SG Nasi Lemak, a Telegram group where over 44,000 active members reportedly shared explicit images and videos featuring women.

According to a report by online portal AsiaOne, members in the group even turned nudes of young women into customised Telegram sticker packs.

Some members in the group even shared images of fully-clothed women, usually screenshots or content lifted from social media profiles. AsiaOne also noted that one member sent images of women that were secretly taken inside an MRT train.

The other members would then make lewd remarks about the women featured in the content, including what seems to be underaged girls based on their school uniforms. These are usually images of girls posing with friends at school-related events.

An admin in the group who goes under the name "Glenn" denounced any responsibility or liability for the various content shared in the group, according to a screenshot shared by AsiaOne. Glenn insisted users are the one to blame for sharing the content on their respective social media platforms in the first place, adding "you are the stupidest ever to let your BF/GF (boyfriend/girlfriend) take SEXUAL VIDEOS to be leaked out all over social media platform not just Telegram stupid!".

The group may have been first exposed or brought to public awareness by a Twitter user who posted an extensive thread on Sept 30 that detailed the type of content being shared on the group as well as those involved.

The exposé gained more traction thanks to notable Singaporean personalities raising awareness and expressing concerns over the existence of the group. Other users have also expressed their shock and disgust after discovering that some people they knew personally were members of the group.

Website Coconuts Singapore reported that a user has filed a police report over the group. The police then declined to provide any comments on the matter, citing that the case is “classified as confidential” after Coconuts Singapore reached out to them. AsiaOne stated that SG Nasi Lemak is no longer active on Telegram.
