Biggest drug lab bust in Selangor, four cops among nine arrested

KAJANG: Nine men, including four police personnel, were arrested following the biggest bust on a drug lab in Semenyih here.

The lab is able to produce some 71kg of syabu daily, according to Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Mazlan Mansor.


"Syabu weighing 71kg is able to supply 142,000 addicts for one day.

"However, if it is supplied only in Selangor, the drugs would have catered to 18,354 addicts for eight days," he told a press conference on Monday (Nov 26).


Some RM3.55mil worth of drugs and drug-making equipment were also seized during the raid, he added.

"It is the biggest drug lab in Selangor that we have busted this year.

"We also seized three vehicles, and some RM330,000 of the syndicate's cash stash," he said.

Those arrested have been remanded until Thursday (Nov 29), Comm Mazlan said.

"We are investigating further the roles played by the police personnel who were arrested," he said.
