Nik Azman is new sec-gen of Economics Affairs Ministry

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Nik Azman Nik Abdul Majid (pic) has been appointed the secretary-general of the Economic Affairs Ministry, effective Sept 1.
His appointment was announced on Tuesday (Sept 4) by the Chief Secretary to the Government, Datuk Seri Ismail Haji Bakar, who congratulated him on his new position in the government.
Nik Azman previously held the role of director-general of the Economic Planning Unit (EPU).
He has been with the civil service for more than 34 years after joining the Administrative and Diplomatic Service on Jan 3, 1983.
During his years of service, Nik Azman served as deputy director-general (Policy) of the EPU and as senior assistant director, budget management division, in the Finance Ministry.
He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in Applied Economics from Universiti Malaya and Masters in Economics from University of Nebraska, United States.
