PETALING JAYA: All unauthorised marshall services are not permitted to direct traffic, says police.

According to the Royal Malaysia Police's official Facebook page, any use of marshall escort in a competition, convoy or programmes must be accompanied by traffic police.


"The public or road users can disregard their (marshall) orders if they conduct traffic duties, including stopping vehicles or directing road users to give way.

"Action can be taken against any individual or groups who are found to perform traffic duties without the presence of traffic police personnel," the page admin said on Sunday (Sept 23).





Under Section 21 of the Police Act 1967, offenders can be fined up to RM200 or up to three months imprisonment or both upon conviction.Under Section 79 (2) of the Road Transport Act 1987, offenders could be fined up to RM300.
