“Thousands pay last respects to HRH Tengku Arif Bendahara of Pahang, Tengku Tan Sri Abdullah Sultan Abu Bakar”
The Sultan of Pahang’s younger brother Tengku Arif Bendahara Tengku Abdullah Sultan Abu Bakar, was laid to rest at the Pahang Royal Mausoleum here this evening.
Tengku Arif Bendahara died of lymphoma cancer at the Gleneagles Hospital, Kuala Lumpur, at 11.30 am today.
His remains arrived at the Royal Malaysian Air Force Base (RMAF) Kuantan at 5.30pm. Tengku Abdullah leaves behind a wife, Puan Sri Habibah Yusof and three children, Tengku Marsilla, who is the wife of former Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, Tengku Bakar and Tengku Shaheera.
Pahang Regent Tuanku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah and Tengku Puan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah attended the funeral...Also in attendance were the former premier Dato Seri Najib Razak and the former Defence Minister, Dato Seri Hishammuddin who is Tengku Abdullah eldest son in law. Royal funeral concluded at 9pm earlier today. The mood was solemn both inside and outside the Royal Mausoleum, despite the good weather😭
It’s terrible to hear about Tengku Abdullah’s loss and I express my sincere sympathy to his family. My heartfelt condolences😭😭😭
