REMBAU: A superbiker died after being dragged two kilometres by a car in an accident at KM233.6 of the North-South Expressway (PLUS) near Pedas Linggi tol plaza, here last night.

In the 8pm incident, Muhammad Hairi Che Pa, 35, who was riding a high-powered Suzuki GSX motorcycle was killed at the scene due to severe head and body injuries.

Rembau district police chief, Deputy Superintendent Anuar Bakri Abdul Salam, said the victim had lost control of his motorcycle before he fell in the middle of the road.

"A Nissan Grand Livina multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) which had passed the same route at the time hit the victim before dragging him for about two kilometers.

"It is believed that the 50-year-old MPV was not aware that he had hit the victim and had only stopped when he found his vehicle was moving slowly as if it was stuck in something.

"He was shocked to find the victim under his vehicle and immediately contacted the emergency line," he said when contacted by NSTP, here today.

Anuar Bakri said the firemen and an ambulance were sent to the scene and an inspection found that the victim, from Taman Bukit Beruang Utama, Melaka, had died.

He said the victim was sent to Tampin Hospital for a post-mortem and the case was investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
