Dr M: Prove that I'm conspiring with Daim to stop Anwar from becoming PM

PUTRAJAYA: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has scoffed at accusations that he and Tun Daim Zainuddin are conspiring to stop Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim from becoming the next prime minister.
The Prime Minister said he had “no business” in interfering with the internal politics of Anwar’s party PKR, and that those who made the claims should come up with proof.
“That is a very ‘nice’ allegation. I think the person should show proof of it.
“I have never even talked to anybody else about this thing. I stay away, I have no business to do anything with internal affairs of other parties,” said Dr Mahathir at a press conference here after chairing a Special Cabinet Committee on Anti-Corruption meeting on Monday (Aug 13).
Rafizi is going up against Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, who is defending his position.
Kapar MP Datuk Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid of PKR claimed that Daim, who is Council of Eminent Persons chairman, a trusted adviser of the Prime Minister, and Azmin are conspiring to block Anwar’s succession.
Abdullah Sani made the claims on Sunday (Aug 12) when campaigning for Rafizi.
