KUALA LUMPUR: A team of policemen from Sentul CID, who were spotted entering Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's home in Jalan Langgak Duta, were there to interview his maid.

"I can confirm that the team were there to record the maid's statement.

"It is pertaining to a police report lodged by Datuk Seri Najib," said Kuala Lumpur CID chief Senior Asst Comm Rusdi Md Isa on Friday.

Earlier in the afternoon, at least six uniformed policemen were seen entering the home of the former prime minister.

It is unclear what was the nature of Najib's police report.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim confirmed on Thursday (July 19) that Najib had been summoned by the police again to give a statement.

He had said the statement from Najib was necessary for the police to complete its investigation into the scandal-plagued 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
