The Shangri-la KL have made their buffet offering kinda off an art-form. The Lemon Garden Cafe which recently went through an extensive renovation, is one the top spots if you want to indulge in a 5 Star Buffet in a 5 Star ambiance.
As you enter the grand Shangri-la lobby you will be greeted by the soothing music of a Gamelan Troupe.
The Festive Dinner Buffet here is priced at (Sunday – Thursday) : RM198 nett per person
and (Friday – Saturday: RM218 nett per person
At most of the Ramadan Buka Puasa Buffet offerings, the whole roasted lamb and briyani is simply a must have.

The Judges decided start with Chinese Section as if to follow the flow of the Lemon Garden Buffet counters. The Dim Sum here was simply top class. The Steamed Buns with Chicken was so tasty that I finished one all by myself. The Black Chicken Soup was another tasty item. The slow cooked Beef Ribs and The Siamese Fresh Water Prawns were really good. The Vegetables in Seafood was good too
The Roast Duck was tasty too. although it was odd they did not have any flavored rice to go with it.The noodle soup counter was quite a crowd favorite,
The Seafood Section & Japanese section placed side by side was a sight to behold, They had some of the freshest seafood in town The Sushi was tasty while the Sashimi was delicious and almost melted in your mouth, The Fresh Oysters were big and succulent. The Crabs, Mussels, Oysters and Prawns were so fresh you could almost still taste the sea.
We then went on to try the Indian cum Malay counter. We tried the tandoori chicken and it was delicious and full of flavor..The Ikan masak lemak was another tasrty dish. The Kambing Masak Kuzi chicken tikka and lamb cubes was good too.
The Chicken Curry and Roti Jala was fabulous.
The next section we tried was by chance as usually most of us would bypass this section but it turned out to be of one of the most tastiest section The Cold Cuts section was really good The Beef Pepperoni, The Smoked Turkey Roll, Smoked Mackarel, Smoked Tuna and Smoked Salmon was simply awesome.with the wasabi mayonnaise.
They even had a healthy corner with corn, red cabbage and potato salad.
The Western Section also provided some tasty dishes. The Lamb Chops was simply amazing , The Salmon, Chicken and Mashed Potato was equally delicious
The Italian Section with the Pasata's and Pizza was another crowd favourite. The thin crust Pizza's was really tasty while the pasta were made to order.
The Desserts at the Shangri-La seemed endless. They had the widest variety of traditional Malay pastries and Western Pastries. Not to mention 10 very tasty flavors of ice-cream including local favourites like teh tarik ice cream, yam and my most favourite Mango Ice Cream. Feast your eyes on the pictures below and you will see what i mean. The dessert dishes of the day had to be the Durian Cake, Carrot Cake Caramel and Bread & Butter pudding. It was simply amazing to end the food journey with something so good as this four.
