IGP Khalid due for retirement in September
KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar (pic) said he is due for mandatory retirement in September.
"Yes, I am going on mandatory retirement in September. I will turn 60," he told reporters after the handing over of duties of the director of the Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department here Friday.
At the function, Deputy Comm Datuk Mahamad Akhir Darus, who retires on June 18 after serving the force since 1976, handed over duties to Brickfields OCPD Senior Asst Comm Sharul Othman Mansor.
Khalid joined the force as an inspector at the Police Training Centre in Kuala Lumpur on Dec 5, 1976. He assumed the post of Inspector-General of Police on May 17, 2013. - Bernama
