PETALING JAYA: A brazen attempt to rob a jewellery store ended abruptly when the alarm went off.

Three men in helmets and armed with hammers and a 'pistol' had rushed into the shop located in a mall in Kelana Jaya at about 2pm Sunday.

Seconds into the heist, the alarm at the shop triggered. The three, shocked by the sound of the alarm, rushed out of the shop and escaped on their motorcycles.

It is learnt that they escaped empty handed.

OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Din said police are tracking the suspects.
