Kota Baru man gets 21 years' jail for multiple rape of 15-year-old

BARU: The sessions court here today sentenced a batik worker to 21 years’ jail and eight strokes of the rotan for four counts of raping an underage girl last year.
Mat Bukhari Ismail, 28, received the sentences after he pleaded guilty to all charges before judge Nazri Ismail.
For the first, second and third charges, Mat Bukhari was alleged to have committed the separate rapes on the girl, who is also his girlfriend, at Pantai Kundur near here and at an unnumbered house near the same beach in November last year.
The girl was 15-years-old when the rapes took place.
For the fourth offence, the accused was alleged to have committed rape on the same girl at the same beach at 4.20pm in December last year.
Mat Bukhari, who was not represented, was charged under Section 376 (1) of the Penal Code.
