TM bags two honours at 20th annual Telecom Asia Awards

KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) has been awarded Best Asian Telecom Carrier and Best Broadband Carrier at the 20th annual Telecom Asia Awards.
The company, in an emailed statement today, said its former group chief executive officer Tan Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa was named as Telecom CEO of the Year at the same event.
TM chairman Tan Sri Dr. Sulaiman Mahbob is quoted as saying that the Telecom CEO of the Year award won by Zamzamzairani befitted the latter's immense contributions to TM and also to the Malaysian telecommunications industry.
“These recognitions put TM on a good footing as we move into the next phase of growth under the new leadership of Datuk Seri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly as the group chief executive officer," said Sulaiman.
Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa, 56, retired as TM's group CEO with effect from April 30, and incoming Shazalli took office at TM effective May 1 this year.
