KUALA LUMPUR: A former senior general manager with Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) was charged in a Sessions Court here with committing criminal breach of trust (CBT) by making a medical claim that was not covered by the company.
Md Shamsuri Md Isa, 40, is accused of committing CBT by receiving medical treatment in the form of laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy surgery that was not covered by MAHB worth RM43,693.55 from Prince Court Medical Centre Sdn Bhd here on Dec 19, 2015.
Md Shamsuri, who pleaded not guilty, was charged under Section 409 of the Penal Code for CBT.
Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Deputy Public Prosecutor S. Thangavelu proposed bail at RM20,000 in one surety.
DPP Thangavelu also informed the court that the accused had been charged in the Shah Alam Sessions Court on Thursday with four counts of submitting false claims for beauty treatments.
In asking for lower bail, Md Shamsuri's counsel Cheow Wee submitted that the total amount involved was RM43,000 and his client had cooperated with police in facilitating investigations.
Cheow said Md Shamsuri had a seven-year-old child and had several health issues including heart, kidney and glaucoma problems.
Judge Azura Alwi later fixed bail at RM20,000 in one surety and set May 29 for mention pending submission of documents.
On Thursday, Md Shamsuri pleaded not guilty in the Shah Alam Sessions Court to submitting false claims totalling RM18,580 for beauty treatments.
He was accused of using three credit card detail forms and a personal claims form that contained false information.
