Manager Marina Juki wins suit against Zizan Razak=
KUALA LUMPUR: The former personal manager of comedian Zizan Razak has won her appeal in her breach of contract suit against her former client at the High Court here.
Speaking after the decision was handed down in chambers on Tuesday, Marina’s lawyer Harjit Singh Sandhu said that High Court Judicial Commissioner Roslan Abu Bakar held that she was owed a 15% commission based on the terms of her contract with Zizan.
Harjit added that JC Roslan also ordered for Marina to be paid RM10,000 in costs when he overturned the decision of the Sessions Court.
On Zizan's cross-appeal, Harjit said the court held that there was no evidence to show that Marina had leaked details about her lawsuit to other parties.
Zizan had filed a counter-suit claiming that Marina had damaged her reputation.
On April 4 Sessions Court judge Rosbiahanin Arifin had dismissed both lawsuits with costs, ruling that she could not find any abuse of court process as claimed by the 31-year-old celebrity against his former manager.
She also held that Rosbiahanin said that the agreement was between Wire Fame Entertainment Sdn Bhd and Zizan, whose real name is Mohd Razizan Ab Razak.
In the civil suit filed on Nov 5, 2014, Marina claimed that Zizan had signed a deal with her and Wire Fame Entertainment to appoint her as his personal manager.
She had claimed in her suit that Zizan had breached the contract signed with her and Wire Fame Entertainment and that she had 15% rights to the total income of the defendant.
Marina had also sought RM535,500 in special damages and general damages to be assessed by the court.
In the counter claim filed on June 9 2015 for alleged abuse of court process and malicious prosecution, Zizan said Marina had publicised the contents of her lawsuit against him before a copy was provided to him.
