PASIR GUDANG: It was a wish come true for Muhammad Hazreel Mikhail Hizar when the Johor royal family paid a surprise visit to his home in Bandar Seri Alam here.

The five-year-old suffers from a rare skin disease, epidermolysis bullosa, which causes the skin to blister.

The die-hard fan of the Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) Football Club could not contain his excitement when Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar and his sons Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail (TMJ) and Tunku Temenggong Tunku Idris Iskandar dropped by.

When met later, his mother Noor Halimaton Hashim, 34, said although he did not say much during the visit, from his expression, she knew that Muhammad Hazreel was overwhelmed by the care and concern shown by the royal family especially TMJ whom he idolises.

“We could not believe that we had the chance to meet all of them in person and have a face-to-face conversation,” she said when met at her house here on Tuesday.

Unfortunately, Muhammad Hazreel has never watched his favourite team play in their home ground at Larkin stadium here,

Noor Halimaton explained her youngest son could not be in crowded areas due to his condition.

She added that TMJ has promised to arrange for Muhammad Hazreel to watch a football match at Larkin stadium next year.
TMJ also said he would take him to a training session to meet JDT players soon.
The mother-of-three said Sultan Ibrahim told them he would refer Muhammad Hazreel to a specialist so that her son could be treated for the disease.
Meanwhile, his father Hizar Omar, 41, said Muhammad Hazreel loves football and although he has never played the sport, he has never missed a single JDT football match on television.
“Sometimes if there is a live telecast, we will bring him to the nearest restaurant to watch the game,” he said.
In a post on the Johor Southern Tigers’s (JST) Facebook page, it was revealed that Muhammad Hazreel also received official merchandise including JDT football jerseys, hoodies, wristbands and a football signed by TMJ besides a cash contribution to cover his medical costs.
