PETALING JAYA: Six people have been arrested over a street brawl, a video of which has gone viral on social media.

The video shows two groups of men attacking each other with various weapons such as rods, sticks, plastic chairs and a mop in Jalan Metro Prima 2, Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, at about 3.15pm on Sunday.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm R. Munusamy said the fight broke out after a member of one group accused someone from the other group of banging into his motorcycle.

"After the brawl, both parties lodged police reports.



"We have arrested three men from each side," he said Monday.

He added that no one had serious injuries in the fight, except for one man who had bruises all over his body.

The six men have been remanded until Thursday and the case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting.

ACP Munusamy said police are also checking if there was any element of gangsterism involved in the incident.
