KUALA LUMPUR: The civil servant detained in connection with the alleged gang rape of a teenager on Tioman island has tested positive for drugs.

Rompin OCPD Deputy Supt Muhammad Aidil Roneh Abdullah said a urine test conducted on the 26-year-old suspect showed positive for methamphetamine (syabu).

He told Sin Chew Daily that a DNA sample of the man had been sent for analysis.

The man is the seventh suspect arrested in relation to the rape of the teenager.

The other suspects, including a woman, have been released on police bail.

He surrendered to police on Saturday night, at his superior’s request, after news of the gang rape claims made headlines in the media.

It was reported that the Form Four student, who worked part-time at the Kampung Tekek jetty, had claimed that she was drugged and repeatedly raped between March and May by several security guards and a Customs officer, who also threatened her with a sack or jail if she told her father or lodged a police report.

Over a month later, the teenager was raped again, this time by a neighbour’s brother while the female neighbour sexually assaulted her, and took nude photos and a video of her.

The victim only reported her ordeals to police after her father coaxed her to do so.

Meanwhile in Seremban, a 19-year-old girl was gang raped by her boyfriend and his friends, all in their 20s, in Rantau on Sunday.

She lodged a police report on the same day.

Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Muhamad Zaki Harun told China Press that police were tracking the suspects including the victim’s boyfriend, whom she met not long ago.

In the report, the victim alleged that her boyfriend got angry when she turned down his request for sex during their outing.

She said the man then took her to a house and raped her while three others who were already there also raped her.
