DPM’s son-in-law laid to rest

KAJANG: The son-in-law of Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was laid to rest at the Sungai Ramal Luar Muslim cemetery here.

Datuk Syed Alman Zain Syed Alwi, who was the husband of Ahmad Zahid’s eldest daughter Datuk Nurulhidayah Ahmad Zahid, was laid to rest at about 10am yesterday after he passed away on Wednesday.

Earlier, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor paid their last respects to Syed Alman at Surau An-Nur, Country Heights, prior to the funeral prayers. Najib also expressed his condolences to Dr Ahmad Zahid and his family.

Dr Ahmad Zahid, who returned abruptly from an official visit to Japan, and his wife Datin Seri Hamidah Khamis were present to receive Najib and Rosmah when they arrived at the surau at 8.45am
