PETALING JAYA: An elderly woman who was seen abused in a video, which has gone viral, claimed that the incident was just a joke.
In a video posted by 1Tamilanz Sangam on Monday, she clarified that she was not injured.  
“It (the video) was just done for fun. But actually there were no beatings. I came to work the next day," she said.   
The elderly woman went on to say that the youths were asked to use expletives in the viral video.  
“They are youngsters. I do not want any problems. Let’s just leave it,” she added.  
Puchong MIC division Youth chief Subash Chandra Bose met the woman Monday and took a video of her explaining the situation.  
He said with the help of 1Tamilanz admin and MIC central committee member Datuk Seri Vell Paari, he managed to locate her in Cheras.  
Subash said he would come to her aid if she faced any problems.  
In the 48-second video, the victim who was clad in red and seen squatting on the floor, was hit several times by an unknown person.
When the person hits her one more time after a brief pause, she tossed water from a bowl at the attacker who then pushed her down onto the floor before hitting her more violently.
At this point, several girls tried to help the elderly lady and to prevent the aggressor from hitting her.
She appeared to be unhurt and was later helped to her feet. The video also recorded expletives in Tamil and people laughing loudly.
