Children at Home in Jinjang Sodomised and Raped

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20, 2015:

“I was raped, almost every night and I couldn’t do anything about it. They told me I would be murdered if I said a word, and no one would know I was gone.”

Those were the resounding words of a 15-year-old boy who was an alleged victim of a series of rape claimed to have been carried out by two men in charge of a children’s welfare home in the Klang Valley.

The home is located next to a temple and the two men were alleged to have raped and sexually abused the boys under their care, while physically abusing the girls also staying there.

The boy, spoke to The Rakyat Post of the ordeal he claimed to have endured for almost two years and with a look of fear in his eyes, said that the abuse started just a week after his parents sent him to the home.

“One night I was called into the room where the home’s owner was staying in. There, he asked me to touch him, I refused to and ran away.

“I went back to my room and told my roommate of what had happened and he said that was normal, that I should just comply with their demands or they will kill me.

“Since then they would repeatedly rape me. We’ve memorised the routine as it will always happen from between 1am and 5am, in the home’s store room.

“There’s a big land behind the home and they said they can do whatever they want to me, they can kill me, bury my body there and even my parents wouldn’t be able to find me.”

He recounted vividly the day he was rescued, on Oct 8 when the founder’s brother told his parents and several others’ to go and take their children back as those in the home had done “bad things” to them.

Another boy claimed the same and said that while he was glad to be out of the “hell” he was living in, many of his friends were still there and his only wish at the moment was to have them rescued.

A father to one of the boys allegedly raped said he had attempted to get his son out of the home several times, but was often refused to even see his child as the home’s owner claimed that there were several difficult procedures the parents had to first go through.

“Even when I tried to take my son out for Deepavali, they wouldn’t allow it and told me I have to do this and that, before I could even see my child.

“I didn’t know what was going on although I suspected something was not right, but it was not until last month when a friend of the founder’s brother called all the parents up and told us exactly what has been going on inside the home,” said the man who only wanted to be known as Ravi.

Ravi’s son was sent to the home at the age of 9, and according Ravi, his son who is now 16 claimed to have been raped repeatedly throughout the seven years he was there.

“We are trying to move on. He refused to talk about what happened as I think, he is deeply traumatised by the experience.”

At least four boys were confirmed to have been raped after medical tests conducted by doctors in Kuala Lumpur Hospital found proof of the sexual abuse.

The Rakyat Post yesterday contacted Sentul police chief Assistant Commissioner R. Munusamy who confirmed that both the home’s owner and founder had been detained and were currently under remand while investigation under Section 377C of the Penal Code was being conducted.

The section provides for the offence of forced sodomy or sodomy rape. At the time of publication, efforts to contact the home were unsuccessful.

Yesterday, Batu Member of Parliament Tian Chua alleged that the boys at the home had been sexually abused and urged the police as well as the Welfare Department to take immediate action.
