AG has dismissed claims that the murder of DPP Kevin Morais was linked to a charge sheet of a "high-ranking government official".

A-G rejects claim linking Kevin Morais murder to 1MDB charge sheet

The attorney-general (A-G) has dismissed the claim that the murder of deputy public prosecutor Kevin Morais was linked to a charge sheet the latter had been preparing against a "high-ranking government official".
"What was claimed by the brother of the late Kevin is preposterous. Kevin was never involved in the 1MDB investigations," Tan Sri Mohd Apandi Ali told The Malaysian Insider in a text message from Nanning, China, referring to the controversial state-owned 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
"In fact, when he was transferred back to A-G's Chambers in early July 2014, there was no report in respect of 1MDB yet!"
Yesterday, Kevin's brother Charles Morais said the murder was linked to a charge sheet he was preparing against a "high-ranking government official".
Charles said Kevin had confided in him while he was preparing the charge sheet in the Attorney-General's Chambers.
He said the draft charge sheet on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, an alleged copy of which was released by whistleblower site Sarawak Report, had Kevin's initials on it. – November 26, 2015.
