KOTA BARU: A 24-year-old jobless man who planted a love bite on an underaged girl was fined a sum of RM800 by a Magistrate Court here after pleading guilty to using criminal force on the girl on Tuesday.
Magistrate Firdaus Zainal Abidin fined Ahmed Ezainie Shafizie Sazali or two months jail in default after he admitted to using criminal force on the 14-year-old girl in a house al Jalan Pair Hor, Kampung Pasir Hor at 1am on Dec 5 last year.
Ahmed was charged under Section 350 of the Penal Code which carries a three year jail term or a fine or both upon conviction.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Syahrun Nizam had urged the court to impose a deterrent sentence as a lesson to the accused and the public.
Ahmed's counsel Wan Mohd Ikram in his appeal urged the court to impose the maximum fine and not a jail term on grounds that the accused was jobless and this was his first offence.
Ahmed's parents paid the fine.
