Vietnamese Pickpockets Caught Red-Handed In KLCC

KUALA LUMPUR: Three female pickpockets believed to be Vietnamese citizens and have actively been pickpocketing were finally caught red-handed in the KLCC shopping complex recently.
The incident that took place on July 5 was shared by a victim named Jannah Adam Thevan on her Facebook page yesterday.

Jannah shared that the incident occurred in roughly a few minutes as one suspicious woman started pushing her way through while she was selecting clothes.

To make a purchase at a kiosk after leaving the boutique, Jannah rummaged to take her wallet, only to realise that the woman had actually stolen it.

“When I was at Zara boutique while choosing a few dresses, I realised one elderly lady was standing too close to me and pushing me while I was choosing the clothes. And after a few minutes, this lady was gone.

“I went to Marks & Spencer kiosk selling chocolates and biscuits, located not too far from Zara boutique. I have selected a few items here and when I was at the cashier to pay for the items, I just realised that my wallet was lost,” she wrote in her entry.

Noticing this, the victim went back to Zara and asked for the boutique manager’s help.

Through the closed-circuit television (CCTV), the suspicious woman is seen along with her two friends, stealing Jannah’s wallet before fleeing the boutique.

However, the suspects’ plan to pickpocket in another boutique was backfired as they were identified by another woman who was also a victim at the same boutique, a day prior to the incident.

Two out of the three women were nabbed with the help of a security guard, while one managed to escape.

According to Jannah, the suspects promised to return her money, which she refused, and pleaded for their release.

They were however purportedly taken to the Dang Wangi Police Station for further investigation.
