It has been confirmed that the next Kuala Lumpur mayor will be current Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) director-general Datuk Mohd Amin Nordin Abdul Aziz.
The 59-year-old will take over the duties of existing mayor Tan Sri Ahmad Phesal Talib, whose tenure expires on July 17.
Amin Nordin is set to start his duties on July 18 and his contract will be for two years.
Meanwhile, the top post of Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) president will be helmed by Datuk Hasim Ismail, 58, come Aug 1.
Hasim is the current Home Ministry deputy secretary-general (management).
The appointments were confirmed by Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor in a statement today.
