In Kelantan, the number of victims in 166 relief centres dropped to 30,309 compared with 42,163, said the State National Security Council (NSC).
Fine weather since five days ago allowed the flood victims to return home. Tanah Merah has the most with 14,184, Kuala Krai (5,645), Machang (3,850), Gua Musang (3,006), Kota Baharu (1,440), Pasir Mas (1,208) and Tumpat (976).
In Terengganu, the flood situation has improved with the number of victims down to 7,753 tonight compared with 8,664 in the afternoon.
The State National Security Council (NSC) portal said Kamaman district has 4,072 people, Dungun (3,544), and Kuala Terengganu (137).
In Pahang, a flood operations room spokesman said the number of victims tonight remain at 45,366 people in 215 relief centres.
Temerloh district has 20,962 people, Pekan (11,220), Jerantut (4,563), Bera (3,228), Maran (2,562), Lipis (1,641), Kuantan (1,085) and Rompin (105).
In Perak, the number of flood victims rose to 7,428 from 2,024 families compared with 7,412 victims from 2,018 families in the afternoon.
A state National Security Council (NSC) spokesman said they were from Perak Tengah, Kuala Kangsar, Hulu Perak, Kerian and Manjung districts.
Perak Tengah rose to 5,252 people, Kuala Kangsar (1,210), Hulu Perak (764), Kerian (107) and Manjung (954).
In Johor, the number of flood victims remain at least 138 people from two districts, namely Segamat (93) and Batu Pahat (45). – Bernama, January 1, 2015.
