Viral Chili Sauce issue- McDonald's Malaysia files a police report

McDonald's Malaysia filed a police report regarding an incident where a customer alleged he was charged for requesting extra chili sauce at the Taman Buaya McDonald's restaurant.

The leading fast food operator in a statement explained that after carrying out internal investigations and examining closed-screen camera (CCTV) recordings, it was discovered that there was an initial error on the part of the restaurant when a customer was accidentally served with an insufficient amount of chili sauce.

"Our staff then immediately provided additional packages of chili sauce if requested by the customer.

"However, at that point, the customer became very angry and verbally aggressive towards our staff. The customer insisted on making payment for 10 additional packets of chili sauce and pressured our crew to issue a receipt for this purchase.

"Even though our crew tried to explain that the chili sauce was provided free of charge, the angry customer still wanted to be charged for 10 extra chili sauce," said McDonald's Malaysia.

In this regard, the facts confirm that McDonald's Malaysia is very disappointed with the actions of customers who not only showed an aggressive attitude towards the company's employees, but also spread inappropriate information regarding this incident on social media.

"We have reported this incident to the police to ensure the safety of the crew after taking into account the aggressive behavior of the customer.

"We would like to emphasize that McDonald's Malaysia offers all customers chili sauce without any additional costs.

"In addition, at McDonald's Malaysia, we respect our crew members as the front line who always strive to provide extraordinary service to the Malaysian people at all times.

"Their welfare will always be our most important priority," he said.
