National champion, Datuk Azizulhasni Awang faced an anxious moment when he was involved in an accident during a training session at the National Velodrome in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan this morning.
On his Facebook social page, Azizulhasni shared a 36-second video recording that saw him fall while speeding in pursuit of a motorcycle in front of him.
"Just sharing with everyone that I was involved in a high speed accident during a training session due to a mechanical failure.
"The accident happened at the first corner of the velodrome when I accelerated to catch up with the bike in front of me.
"I am thankful that this accident did not lead to worse things. It can actually cause serious injury.
"Any accident that happens in this situation is no joke. Alhamdulillah... God saved me," Azizulhasni said in the message.
The incident certainly surprised many people considering that Azizulhasni is currently in the final preparations ahead of the Hangzhou 2023 Asian Games in China which will start on September 23.
In fact, the National Cycling Federation of Malaysia (PKBM) is also pinning its hopes on The Pocket Rocketman to at least bring home a gold medal at the Asian Games this time.
For the record, at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games, Azizulhasni grabbed a gold in the sprint event in addition to winning a silver (team sprint) and a bronze (keirin)
